Workington sign Norman on loan

Widnes Vikings forward Dan Norman has joined Workington Town on a four-game loan deal.

The move will provide the young forward an opportunity to gain competitive action in League 1 after spending time on loan with Championship outfit Swinton Lions last year.

Norman signed his first full-time professional contract with the Vikings in the off-season, penning a one-year deal with the club.

And Widnes head coach Denis Betts thinks the loan can only help develop the 19-year-old.

He said: “We have an abundance of talented young players and it’s imperative that we get them as much game time as possible.

“We’ve seen how much the experience of playing in Cumbria benefitted the (Ted and Jay) Chapelhow brothers and I’m sure that this experience will assist Dan’s progression too.”
