Workington sign Jamie Thackray

Workington have announced the signing of former Great Britain international prop forward Jamie Thackray for the 2012 season.

The 32-year-old former Hull, Leeds, Castleford and Crusaders front man joins Workington ahead of their Championship One campaign after finishing a spell with French side Limoux.

Thackray, who brings a wealth of Super League experience to Workington, is no stranger to Cumbria after a short spell with the Barrow Raiders in 2011.

Director Tony Boyd added “Jamie has just finished a stint with Limoux in France so is fit and raring to go. We are constantly on the lookout for new players to improve the squad going forward, but will only sign players who are right for the club”.
