Workington sign ex-Barrow prop

Championship 1 side Workington have signed former Barrow prop Lee Dutton.

Dutton started this season very much in Dave Clark’s plans at Craven Park, but his spell at the club was cut short following an injury picked up against Gateshead.

Workington co-coach Martin Oglanby said: “Lee is a big, rough, tough forward and this will be his second spell at Workington.

“He is highly thought of in rugby league circles as a no nonsense prop forward, something we have been short of.

“He will complement the other forwards at Town and bring them on.”

Dutton has previously played for amateur side Barrow Island, and made his professional debut for the Raiders against Workington in 2006.

He spent some time at Derwent Park on trial in 2003.
