Workington: It’s must win

Workington Town assistant coach Jonty Gorley has described Sunday’s clash against Swinton as a must-win match.

Both Swinton and Workington Town have only won one game in 2016. They meet tomorrow afternoon at Stalybridge FC.

Workington Town suffered a 24-40 home defeat at the hands of Leigh Centurions on Easter Monday and Gorley believes it is a must-win game.

“Monday was frustrating for us because we came close to an upset even thought we only had 14 men towards the end,” he said.

“We took a few more chances than usual against a better side and the performance gave us a boost, but we’ve paid for it with a few knocks.

“No one gave us a chance but we went out, did our best and showed what they can do.”
