Woolston Rovers coach Mike Grady is set to take the helm at Championship One side South Wales Scorpions.

Grady will join a long list of Rovers open age coaches who have moved into the professional game in the last 20 years, following the likes of Warren Ayres, Vinny Webb and John Fieldhouse.

He is currently coach of the Wales Dragonhearts, and is close to stepping up to the role vacated by Dave Clark at the end of last season.

The former Warrington Wolves academy, Whitehaven, Albi, York, Oldham and Rochdale centre or wing moved in to coaching at Warrington Wizards in 2010, and progressed to head coach in 2012, retaining the position when the club merged with Woolston Rovers.

Woolston have now advertised for a new head coach for the 2014 season, which they begin with a Challenge Cup tie against Elland on Saturday February 1.

They currently play in National Conference League Division 3, finishing fifth last season.

If you wish to apply for the role, and hold at least a Level Two coaching qualification, then send your application and coaching CV to woolstonroversrl@hotmail.co.uk
