Wood set for scans

Salford utility Josh Wood will undergo scans this week with fears of a broken shoulder after a sickening collision with Catalans’ Dave Taylor.

Wood was injured trying to make a tackle on Taylor in the second half of the Dragons’ 42-32 win over the Red Devils in Perpignan.

The young hooker left the field clutching an arm after the heavy knock.

It is believed he may have broken his shoulder and will have an MRI in the next few days to determine the damage.

It is a blow for Salford with Wood impressing in the first-team, following an injury to Tommy Lee.

The 20-year old has filled in at hooker and also at halfback, when Robert Lui was out, and has made four appearances this season.
