Women’s Super League Grand Final – Who, Where and When

This Saturday will see League Leaders and Challenge Cup Champions, Leeds Rhinos, take on the second placed Wigan Warriors in the Women’s Super League Grand Final.

The game will kick-off tomorrow at 1pm at the Manchester Regional Arena – which gives spectators plenty of time to also catch the Men’s final at Old Trafford.

Leeds head coach Adam Cuthbertson has opened up about the ultimate fixture:

“It’d be outstanding and exciting to win a treble,

“I think the girls have already represented the club really well and put women’s rugby on the map this year regardless.

“But the Grand Final is the biggie and it would be the icing on the cake for us.”

Wigan Warriors head coach Angela Wilkinson has expressed her surprise at just how well they’ve done this year:

“At the start, we really didn’t think we’d come so far in such a short space of time,

“Over 100 girls turned up for trials, but to start from scratch, to building a squad of 28 that have taken us all the way to the Grand Final – that was never in my thoughts.

“I just didn’t want us to finish bottom this year, and we’ve ended up one point off top spot.”

With last years winners not in the final – a new name is destined to be etched on the epic trophy.
