Wolves unsure over Carney future

Brian Carney may have played his last game for Warrington after breaking his arm against Leeds on Saturday.

Carney, 33, is set to be ruled out for the rest of the season, when his short-term contract with the Wolves is due to expire.

The former Great Britain international has scored two tries in four games since making his debut against St Helens, and has kept youngster Chris Riley out of the Wolves side.

Boss Tony Smith said: “It’s too soon for me and, I would suspect, for Brian to talk.

“I’d be surprised if he played again this year but I wouldn’t like to speculate on somebody else’s career.”

Warrington have also been hit by an injury to Paul Wood – it was confirmed last week that the prop has broke his leg and will miss the rest of the season.
