Wolves favourites for cup glory

Warrington Wolves have been installed as 7/4 favourites to retain the Carnegie Challenge Cup at Wembley on Saturday August 28.

The RFL’s official betting partner William Hill also have the Cup holders as odds-on favourites to beat Catalans Dragons when the two sides meet in their semi-final at Stobart Stadium, Halton on Sunday August 8 (3.30).

Warrington are priced at 1/4 to avenge the 29-28 defeat they suffered at the hands of Catalans in an Engage Super League Round 23 fixture in Perpignan last Saturday.

The Dragons are 11/4 to complete a quickfire Cup and Super League double over Warrington and 14/1 outsiders to become the first non-English side to win the Carnegie Challenge Cup in the competition’s 113-year history.

William Hill are unable to separate Leeds Rhinos and St Helens ahead of their semi-final at Galpharm Stadium, Huddersfield on Saturday August 7. Both clubs are priced at 10/11 to win.

Leeds and Saints are also quoted at the same odds of 15/8 to win at Wembley, a feat St Helens have achieved twice in the last three years but one that has eluded Leeds since the last final at the old Wembley Stadium in 1999.

Tickets for both Carnegie Challenge Cup semi-finals are priced from £18 (£5 concessions) and are on sale from the RFL Ticket Office on 0844 8561113 or by visiting www.rugbyleaguetickets.co.uk.
