Withers faces uncertain future

Hull KR hooker Lincoln Withers has admitted he is unsure where his future lies after an injury-ravaged season.

Withers, 32, has been limited to just five appearances in 2013, a stark contrast to last season where he missed just one Rovers match.

And while he will continue playing next season, Withers has conceded that he doesn’t know if it will be with the Robins or elsewhere.

He said: “If the club want me and it’s worth doing, then I’d love to stay. My family and I like it here and I’ve been around long enough to know how it works.

“I’m off contract at the end of the season and the club is finding out what they are doing regarding next season. We’re talking at the moment. I’d like to go around for a couple more years, but we’ll see what happens.

“We’ve been told about the situation at the club and once that gets sorted we’ll know more. It would be good to stay over here.”

Australian Withers is likely to be in the squad as Rovers take on City rivals Hull FC over Magic Weekend.
