Wire dominate Leigh 46-4

Warrington have cruised to a 46-4 victory over Championship club Leigh.

Gene Ormsby bagged a hat-trick in the one-sided clash at the Halliwell Jones Stadium.

Leigh struck first, Adam Higson touhing down in the corner.

After that it was one-way traffic for the Wire. First Ashton Sims barged over, then Ormsby got his first and Rhys Evans got the the third on 24 minutes.

Kurt Gidley got his first try for Warrington, followed by Tom Lineham getting his first Wire four-pointer.

At half-time Warrington had a solid 28-4 lead.

In the second half the Wolves continued on, Ormsby getting his second after just four minutes.

Next it was Ben Currie who got in on the action, followed by Kevin Penny.

Ormsby got his final try of the afternoon to wrap up the 42-point win.

A crowd of 4,963 was on hand for the Simon Grix testimonial.
