Warrington Police also confirmed that there had been people arrested after the game, following trouble in Dallam Lane.

Later, it was confirmed that three arrests had been made.

A Hull FC fan told the Hull Daily Mail: “There were probably 15 or so Warrington supporters who were looking to cause trouble where the coaches are parked behind the west stand.

“I didn’t see anything personally but I think it was nipped in the bud before it got out of hand.

“There wasn’t a great police presence there last night if any at all. The stewards were in charge of policing the game last night.”

Hull FC, Warrington and the RFL have been approached for comment.
