York coach James Ford said: “I’m really pleased to retain Will. He’s been very consistent throughout this season, both in attack and defence. He brings a lot to the group off the field in terms of how he drives and upholds standards in training.

“I’m pleased that he’s still really keen to add things to his game and I’m looking forward to working with him more over the coming season.

Jubb said: “I absolutely love it at York and there’s nowhere else I’d rather be. This club means a lot to me now so I’m really happy to be staying.

“2021 has been a challenging year with things on the pitch and completing my PhD. I’m really looking forward to getting some sense of normality back next year and focussing on a great 2022.”
