Wildie happy with Wakefield display

Wakefield scrum half Matt Wildie was happy with the hit out, after he was named man of the match in Friday’s 38-24 victory over Sheffield.

Wildie, 21, captained the Wildcats on the day and scored two tries as a young side saw off last season’s Championship Grand Finalists.

He told the club’s official website: “All the boys went well.

“Our stall was to go out and put in a performance really and not bother about the result and we were happy with our performance.

“We knew it was going to be tough and that was an incentive to go out and perform well, give it our all and that’s what the boys did.

“Full credit to Sheffield, they put it all in but we came out on top so we’re happy.”

Wakefield’s next pre-season match is against Castleford on January 22nd (3.30pm kick-off).
