George has been playing for Huddersfield Academy for the past two seasons and has shown enough progression at the Giants to give his new club full confidence in his ability.

Head Coach John Kear said “Luke has been extremely prominent in the reserve grades at Huddersfield for some time and we have identified him as a three-quarter with the potential to step up to Super League level and go all the way.

"He is quick, scores tries and has all the raw materials to develop into a quality Super League player.”

The talented wing or centre is the son of Wilf George, the former Halifax favourite whose greatest achievement with the club was winning the Challenge Cup in 1987.

George is the eleventh British player drafted into the squad at Belle Vue as Kear makes his preparations for 2007.
