The 25-year-old winger has spent five years at Wheldon Road, including a season in LHF National League One in 2005, but has been out of action since July with a broken leg.
And head coach John Kear is happy that the player is moving to Belle Vue having been in great form before that injury.
"Waine is an established winger with good experience and great pace," said Kear.
"He has vastly improved under the high ball and had a superb try-scoring record at Castleford."
"The form he was displaying at Castleford prior to his injury was, I believe, the best of his career," Kear added. "I am very confident that he can continue this progression at Belle Vue."
