Wildcats deny Kear speculation

Wakefield Wildcats have strongly denied reports that John Kear has left the club. nnAfter the club’s seventh straight defeat at the weekend, a comprehensive 22-48 thumping by bottom club Castleford, reports on a local radio station suggested that Kear had been dismissed. nnHowever, in a statement made this morning, the club said: “Contrary to reports this morning, John Kear still remains at the Wakefield Wildcats in his position of football director and head coach.nn”He will remain in charge and he is working hard with the coaching staff and players to get the season back on track.nn”Kear is not one to walk away from a challenge and he remains very much dedicated and committed to the club.”nnThe run of defeats has seen the club slip out of the play-off places, as well as missing out on a trip to Wembley after defeat to Hull FC in the Carnegie Challenge Cup semi-finals.
