Wigan trio ruled out for Salford clash

Wigan Warriors will be without Sean O’Loughlin, Joe Burgess and John Bateman for Friday’s trip to Salford Red Devils.

O’Loughlin has a calf injury while Burgess picked up a knock to the thigh in the pre-season game against Leigh Centurions. Bateman has yet to return to full training following a hand injury picked up while playing for England at the 2017 Rugby League World Cup.

Warriors head coach Shaun Wane could hand Gabe Hamlin his competitive debut while the returning Dan Sarginson is also in the squad.

Jack Littlejohn is poised to make his Super League debut for Ian Watson’s Red Devils after his arrival from Wests Tigers.

Ryan Lannon will serve the last game of his three-match suspension while Manu Vatuvei misses out after picking up a serious Achilles injury midweek.

The game takes place at the AJ Bell Stadium on Friday, 7:30pm kick-off.

  1. I think wigan will have to much for Salford tonight and if they can stay injury free they will go all the way to the grand final again they may also go for the challenge cup too I know other teams have the same idea but wigan and Leeds look good this year Warrington may have a say too but why people are tipping saints I cannot answer that because they have the good individuals but nothing fretting for me cas was good last year because the top four was very poor exsept Leeds but even they wasn’t that good but come good when it mattered
