Wigan centre James Worthington has joined League 1 side Workington on a one-month loan deal.

Worthington made his first-team debut for the Warriors in 2017, scoring two tries against Wakefield Trinity at the DW Stadium.

He will link up with Leon Pryce’s side immediately, where he will join Wigan team-mate Caine Barnes, who is also on loan at Town.

Wigan transition coach Darrell Goulding said: “James has been very impressive this off-season, in his approach to training and series of eye-catching performances in our pre-season games.

“It’s a great opportunity for him to build on his hard-work at a strong, well-coached League 1 side.

“I’m sure he’ll excel for Workington and we wish him well.”
