Wigan need to move on quickly, says Adrian Lam

Wigan coach Adrian Lam insists his side have got to put their heavy defeat at St Helens behind them as they face Salford in a semi-final decider.

The Warriors fell to a 40-10 defeat to the Saints at the Totally Wicked Stadium on Friday night, with the latter reaching the Super League Grand Final.

Wigan will have a second bite at the cherry and they will take on Salford at the DW Stadium on Friday. The winner will meet St Helens at Old Trafford on October 12.

Lam said: “What we have done great as a club over the last half of the season is earn the right to have a second crack so that comes into play for us now.

“I don’t want to think about two weeks ahead really but if we get another crack at them, then it would be completely different.

“Salford were good the other night so we have got to move on from here quickly. We will address it tomorrow and then move forward because Salford are going to be a handful.

“One thing I do have in that dressing room is great experience and in the last 10 years, we have been in more finals than anyone and some of those players are still around so I know in my heart that they will lift this week.”

Lam confirmed that centre Dan Sarginson will return from injury for the Warriors next weekend.
