Gareth Hock has revealed Wigan tried to sign him before he moved to Barrow ahead of the 2019 season.

Last week, the 35-year-old announced his retirement from rugby league with immediate effect.

Hock made over 313 career appearances in total for hometown club Wigan, Widnes, Salford, Leigh, Featherstone and Barrow, scoring 81 tries.

Speaking to Wigan Today, Hock revealed: “I’ve got loads of highlights – and a couple regrets.

“I regret leaving Wigan, I should never have gone.

“They came in for me again before Is signed for Barrow [this year] and I regret not going back, and finishing my career there.”
