Wigan front-rower Ryan Sutton has been ruled out for six to eight weeks after suffering a knee injury.

The 22-year-old picked up the knee injury in Wigan’s 23-0 Challenge Cup quarter-final defeat to Warrington Wolves on Saturday afternoon.

It comes as a blow to the Warriors and Sutton, who has been one of the form forwards in Super League this year.

As a reward for his performances, Sutton was selected in Paul Anderson’s England Knights Performance squad.

The injury will definitely rule him out of selection for Wayne Bennett’s England squad for their mid-season Test against New Zealand in Denver on June 23.

As well as confirming Sutton’s injury, Wigan coach Shaun Wane has also revealed that front-rowers Taulima Tautai and Ben Flower are ruled out of Thursday’s clash with Wakefield Trinity through injury.
