Wigan and Toulouse have agreed for Joe Bretherton’s loan to be extended until the end of the season.

The 22-year-old originally joined Olympique on loan in May to cover several injured bodies in the forward pack.

But Bretherton has impressed in the Championship since switching to the French club, having made three appearances already.

Bretherton came through the ranks at the Warriors and has made 15 first team appearances for the club.

James Worthington, who accompanied Bretherton for a one-month loan in France, has now returned to Wigan for family reasons and will not be returning to France.
