Wigan back-rower Joe Shorrocks has received a five-match suspension for an incident in a recent reserves fixture.

The 20-year-old was charged with a Grade D dangerous contact offence in the 73rd minute of Wigan’s recent reserve fixture against Widnes.

Shorrocks pleaded guilty to the tribunal and has been given a five-match ban and a £50 fine.

Elsewhere, Hunslet prop Zach Johnson has been given a six-match ban for a Grade E dangerous throw in the 79th minute of their recent fixture against Leeds.

Johnson pleaded guilty but challenged the grading of the offence. The tribunal found the grading to be correct and the six-match ban remains, with Johnson being fined £75.
