Wigan check on Leuluai, Winder praises skipper

Wigan Warriors came out of their game with Catalans with two league points, but will check the fitness of star scrum-half Tommy Leuluai.

The Kiwi went off midway through the second period clutching his jaw and did not reappear on the bench.

Assistant Coach John Winder said: “He’s being assessed by the doctor at the moment, so we haven’t got anything crystal on that yet. We’ll probably know more tomorrow.”

“Losing Tommy, such an influential player meant a reshuffle and fortunately we have a player of the caliber of Sean O’Loughlin who can slot into the halves for us and I thought, considering he’s not played there for a while, he did okay, he was good.”
