Wigan have cancelled training after two of their players tested positive for coronavirus.

The Ruby Football League announced the players were tested after displaying Covid-19 symptoms and are now self-isolating as per Government guidelines.

The Warriors, who are due to play Warrington on Friday, cancelled their training session scheduled for Tuesday as a precaution, while awaiting the results of the weekly coronavirus tests carried out on the rest of their squad and support staff on Monday.

Of the two players who have tested positive, one was involved in Saturday’s Challenge Cup semi-final defeat by Leeds – but test and trace analysis does not require any of the Leeds or Wigan players to self-isolate as a result of close contacts from the game.

The RFL says it will issue an update later.
