Wigan back-rower joins Whitehaven

Wigan back-rower Rhodri Lloyd has joined Championship side Whitehaven on a one-month loan deal.

Lloyd, 21, has scored three tries in four appearances in a similar spell at League One side Swinton, earning rave reviews.

The Wales international started last season on loan at Widnes, but his season was cut short by a serious knee injury.

A Warriors club statement said: “With Whitehaven in the Kingstone Press Championship, the move helps Lloyd continue his career development.”
