Wigan and Warrington name Grand Final squads

Wigan and Warrington have named their 19-man squads for Saturday’s Super League Grand Final at Old Trafford.

The Warriors are boosted by the return of captain Sean O’Loughlin, who has been sidelined since the Challenge Cup final with an achilles injury.

Head Coach Shaun Wane said: “Sean has had a good week and it is great news, he is fit to play.”

Warrington have a fully fit squad to choose from, with Adrian Morley, Garreth Carvell and Mike Cooper all set to play their final games for the club.

The Wolves players will wear black armbands in memory of the club’s last Championship winning captain, Albert Naughton, who passed away last week.

Coach Tony Smith said: “Both are well-supported clubs so it should be a great atmosphere and an intriguing game too as there’s a contrast in styles; we are probably a bit more adlib and Wigan are a bit more structured in their attacking style. The fact that we’ve had such competitive games over the last two or three years also makes it intriguing.”

Warrington squad: Atkins, Bridge, Briers, Carvell, Cooper, Grix, Harrison, Higham, Hill, Hodgson, J Monaghan, M Monaghan, Morley, Myler, Ratchford, Riley, Waterhouse, Westwood, Wood.

Wigan squad: Charnley, Crosby, Dudson, Farrell, Flower, Gelling, Goulding, Green, Hansen, Hughes, McIlorum, Mossop, O’Loughlin, Richards, Smith, Taylor, Thornley, L Tomkins, S Tomkins.
