Shaun Ainscough began his professional career at Wigan Warriors.

Championship side Widnes have completed deals for three youngsters from Wigan.

Prolific try-scorer Shaun Ainscough, who burst on to the scene with 17 tries in 12 appearances for the Warriors last season, joins the Vikings as part of their dual registration quota for 2010, together with loose forward Liam Farrell.

The third player to make the switch to the Stobart Stadium is Ben Davies, who joins on a three month loan.

Vikings sporting director, and former Wigan prop, Terry O’Connor said on the club’s official website: “Shaun Ainscough and Liam Farrell will be here as part of our Dual Registration quota for 2010. Ben Davies is with us initially on a three month loan. All three of these lads are the type of quality British players we are looking to see play and nurture here at the Vikings.

“This arrangement between the clubs will strengthen the Viking’s 2010 playing squad and  allow the talented young Wigan players to experience some regular senior first team football.

“We would like to extend a big thank you to Ian Lenagan, Michael McGuire, Shaun Wayne and Kris Radlinski for making these deals possible. The Wigan club have been thoroughly professional in their dealings throughout our negotiations.”

Wigan chairman Ien Lenagan added: “The deal is good for the individual players, for the Wigan Club and for Widnes whom we hope to see in Super League in the future. The Dual Registrations mean either Shaun or Liam can return intermittently to play for Wigan at any time based upon form or injuries and the rest of the time, like Ben, get Senior rugby experience with Widnes.”
