Widnes trio Hep Cahill, Jay Chapelhow and Krisnan Inu all face spells on the sidelines.

Vikings’ captain Cahill, who has been with the club since 2012, requires surgery on a thumb injury which will rule the loose forward our for the next six weeks.

Chapelhow sustained an ankle injury in the club’s first pre-season match against Hull Kingston Rovers at Featherstone’s LD Nutrition Stadium, which has ruled the front-rower out for the next three to four weeks.

Inu is another player who has been sidelined. The centre has suffered a calf injury which keeps him on the treatment table for around five weeks.

Half-back Tom Gilmore is continuing his recovery from off-season surgery.
