Widnes Vikings have been fined £2,500 for fielding 14 players on two occasions during their 46-6 win over Hull FC in March.

The club admitted the offences when appearing in front of the Rugby Football League independent tribunal this week.

The incidents occured late into the game with the Black and Whites, in which the Vikings made two substitutions which meant they had an extra man on the pitch twice in the last ten minutes.

Chris Dean and Lloyd White are the players that remained on the field when they were supposed to be substituted, with the latter making a tackle close to his own try-line.

The tribunal fined the Vikings £500 for the first incident and £2,000 for the second one.
