Whiting joins Leigh on two-month loan

Hull FC player Richard Whiting has joined Kingstone Press Championship side Leigh Centurions on a two-month loan deal.

The 31 year-old has been with the Black and Whites since the 2004 season, however given the high number of fresh faces at the KC Stadium, his chances are now limited at the club.

This short loan move is perfect for both Leigh Centurions and for Whiting according to his coach Lee Radford, who says that the utility forward needs playing time at this stage of his career.

“It is a good opportunity for Richard Whiting to get minutes under his belt,” Radford told the Hull Daily Mail.

“He is joining a club pushing at the top end of the Championship playing at a high standard. They have picked up a few knocks so the situation has arisen for him to go there and perform to put himself in a stronger position when he returns.”
