Bradford youngster Elliott Whitehead has signed a new deal to keep him at Odsal until the end of the 2013 season.

Whitehead, 21, appeared in 29 of the Bulls’ 30 games this season, scoring nine tries, having made his first team debut in 2009.

Bulls Chairman Peter Hood said: “Elliott has been tremendous for us since he came into the side and although his contract still had a further year to run we were keen to offer him this new improved deal to reward him for the progress he has made. He has certainly earned it and we are delighted to have him at the club for the next three years, during which time we fully expect him to make his full International debut.”

Whitehead added: “I had another year left on my previous deal but they offered me a new contract so I was happy to accept it as I don’t want to go anywhere else because this is my hometown club and I love playing for them. I’ve been in the first team for two years now and although results haven’t gone our way, I’ve enjoyed my time and I am really looking forward to next season and working with Mick Potter.”
