Whitehaven sign Walker and Perez

Whitehaven have today announced the signings of Anthony Walker and Ugo Perez on loan deals to help ease the club’s injury crisis.

Both players have top grade experience, Walker with St Helens and Wakefield and Perez with Catalans Dragons, and arrive at the club ahead of this weekend’s Summer Bash event at Blackpool.

Ugo Perez has been a key player for Catalans Dragons reserve grade, and has gone on to play two first-team appearances for the Dragons.

Anthony Walker, who represented Wales at the Rugby League World Cup in 2013, was originally part of Nathan Brown’s St Helens squad in 2013 before injury, and then moved on to Wakefield in 2015.

A statement on Whitehaven’s official website said: “There has been an extreme amount of paperwork and it has all been quite fraught especially tying up things with the French R.F.L and to meet deadlines for the Summer Bash but we got there in the end. Once again a big thanks to our friend Christophe Jouffret.”
