Whitehaven will played in League 1 next year after relegation was confirmed with a 20-18 loss to Oldham today.

Whitehaven will drop down along with local rivals Workington Town.

Haven had to defeat the Roughyeds to have any chance of staying up.

But the loss means Whitehaven are relegated with one match of the season to go.
