Whitehaven move for second Askam amateur

Whitehaven have signed loose forward Tom Wilkinson from National Conference League side Askam.

Wilkinson, 22, becomes the second player to make the same move this off-season, follow Sam Dowsett.

He said: “I’m very happy to sign for the club and I’m excited to get started. I’m just looking at holding my position in the team and improving my game every week at a higher level.”

Wilkinson is the 16th confirmed member of Gary Charlton’s 2019 squad ahead of the start of pre-season in two weeks time.
