Scotland international Oscar Thomas has joined Whitehaven on a one-month trial.

The 27-year-old has made more than 100 career appearances so far, including spells at London Broncos, Bradford, Sheffield and Swinton. He has won 11 caps for Scotland and played at the 2017 World Cup.

Thomas is a half-back by trade but can also play at full-back and hooker.

Whitehaven coach Gary Charlton said: “I’m really pleased to have Oscar on board. He has experience and has played at a high level.

“Just in training we have noticed he talks a lot which is a good trait to have playing in the positions he plays.

“Hopefully he will be a great asset to the team and to be able to get Oscar up here for the next month is great for the club.”
