Whitehaven have announced the re-signing of Chris Taylor on a two-year deal.

Taylor, 26, made his debut for the club in February 2014, and has made a total of 136 appearances and scored 40 tries.

In 2015, he went to Halifax for a short spell, playing 10 games before to returning to Haven.

He said:  “I’ve always signed one-year deals but I feel it is the time to add a bit of stability. I love the club and the fans, and they have been great with me on and off the pitch.”

Head coach Gary Charlton added: “Chris is an experienced member of the squad and for him to sign a two-year deal is a big boost for us. He is a strong player who fits well in the squad and who loves it at Whitehaven. We know we have to strengthen for next season and I’m really pleased he’s signed for two years. I’d like to thank the vice presidents for again helping get Chris over the line.”
