Whitehaven bring in Barrow half-back on loan

Whitehaven have signed half-back Jake Carter on a month’s loan from Barrow.

Carter, who signed a three-year deal with the Raiders ahead of this season getting underway, has made two appearances for the Cumbrian club so far.

He will now spend the next month at the Recreation Ground in a bid to get more game time and he goes straight into contention for the Good Friday derby against Workington.

Whitehaven coach Gary Charlton said: “He is highly thought of at Barrow.

“Jake has had limited game time this season as there are some good halves that he is up against but he possesses a great kicking game and knows how to take a team round the field.

“We are really pleased to have him on board and he will add plenty of competition to our squad for the forthcoming matches.”

Forward Lewis Brown has left Whitehaven though due to work commitments.
