St George prop Michael Weyman has been ruled out for six weeks after suffering a groin tear.

Weyman suffered the injury during the Dragons’ 16-10 defeat to Cronulla on Monday and scans have since diagnosed the problem.

“We received the full medical report today from the scans that Michael had yesterday and he has sustained a slight groin tear that will require him to be sidelined for about six weeks,” said Dragons Performance Director Jeremy Hickmans.

“He will not require any surgery”.

David Gower has been named to replace Weyman in the front row for Sunday’s clash with the New Zealand Warriors.
