Weyman fit for Grand Final

St George prop Michael Weyman has declared his fitness ahead of Sunday’s Grand Final against Sydney.

Weyman has been struggling with a groin injury in recent weeks and while he was only able to undertake a light training session yesterday, the former Canberra player says he will be ready.

“Everything’s looking pretty good,” Weyman said when quizzed on his fitness at WIN Stadium on Tuesday.

“It felt pretty good today and I’ll be definitely there on Sunday,”

“There’s still a fair bit of time between now and Sunday so we’ll just have to wait and see how it goes.”

Asked if he is likely to play with the aid of pain killing injections, the 26-year-old replied: “I haven’t spoken to the doctor yet but it’s feeling a lot better today so we’ll just go from there.”

Meanwhile, winger Brett Morris and second rower Neville Costigan are expected to feature as will Jarrod Saffy, who missed the Tigers clash with a quad problem.
