Wests Tigers star David Nofoaluma has joined Melbourne Storm on loan for the remainder of the 2022 season.

Nofoaluma, 28, will link up with Craig Bellamy’s side on loan before returning to his parent club for the 2023 competition.

He has made 175 appearances in the NRL for the Tigers, scoring 95 tries. He has crossed eight times in 12 matches in the current campaign.

Nofoaluma has also played three Tests for Samoa and represented the Prime Minister’s XIII in 2015.

He will join his new team-mates next week and will be available for selection for the round 21 match against the Gold Coast Titans at AAMI Park.

The Tigers sit at the bottom of the NRL ladder with just three wins in 18, with just five regular games of the season remaining.

Melbourne Storm currently sit third in the table as they look towards the play-offs. They have been hit with injuries in recent weeks. Outside-backs Ryan Papenhuyzen, Reimis Smith, George Jennings and Xavier Coates are all sidelined.

The side were also linked with Reece Walsh and Jayden Campbell to help cover their injuries.

More on David Nofoaluma

Nofoaluma made his debut in 2013 in Round 10 against the South Sydney Rabbitohs on the wing in a 54-10 defeat. He represented City Origin in 2016 before making his Samoa debut, qualifying through the heritage rule.

The winger featured at full-back on his international debut in a test match against Fiji in Apia. He has won three caps for the side and also represented Samoa at the World Cup Nines Down Under in 2019.

The move to Melbourne Storm could also see Nofoaluma make a career-first finals appearance.
