Wests Tigers have confirmed the signing of Hull KR forward Cory Paterson on a one-year deal.

Paterson, 26, is leaving Rovers after just one season in Super League and will join up with Mick Potter’s side for the start of the 2014 campaign.

The second-row has previously played in the NRL for Newcastle and North Queensland, making a combined total of 88 appearances and scoring 25 tries.

Tigers head coach Potter said, “Cory is a big strapping back-rower who can break the line and also offload the ball. He is an experienced NRL player who still has plenty to offer.”

“He is playing very well for Hull KR but his wife is extremely homesick.

“Cory is coming back for a chance to re-establish himself in the NRL. His experience will be invaluable to some of our younger back-rowers.”
