Wembley not Radford’s focus yet

Hull FC coach Lee Radford is putting thoughts of Wembley and the Challenge Cup final to one side this weekend, and focusing purely on Super League.

The Airlie Birds host Catalans Dragons on Thursday evening, with a win possibly securing their top four place in the table.

“I’m not focused on the win for Wembley, we’re focused on getting the win to secure a top four spot and that’s really important for us,” Radford told his club’s official website.

“It’s one game away from the Grand Final, which effectively makes this a quarter-final, and that’s how we’re looking at that.

“Their season can be finished tomorrow if the result doesn’t go their way so it will be a tough one I’m sure.”

That focus on winning means that he is taking the Catalans’ threat far from lightly.

“They have threats all over the park with the 19 they’ve named, they’re a quality side,” he said.
