Webster: We were past our best

Hull KR coach James Webster says his team were flat after Easter but has paid credit to a dominant Catalans side last night.

The Dragons won 40-0 in a near perfect display.

“I think it was as good a performance I’ve seen this year in Super League from Catalans,” Webster admitted to Sky.

“They came really well prepared. We couldn’t get a foothold in the game.

“We’ve had a tough month. Easter can do that to you. We were well and truly past our best today.”

Hull KR defeated Leeds last weekend and Webster said that win took, and the busy Easter period, a lot out of his team.

“We had a lot of energy last week, I think that took a lot out of us,” he said.

“We haven’t been able to rotate our squad at all. We’re disappointed, we were outplayed.”

Matty Marsh was replaced in the second half with a knock and the halfback may miss the Robins’ next game.

“We had our last 17 playing today,” Webster said.

“But life goes on. We’ll keep fighting. We’re sure our season’s not over yet, we’ve got plenty to play for.”
