Parramatta have bolstered their squad for next season by landing prop Carl Webb and exiled back-rower Reni Maitua, both on two-year deals.

Webb, 29, arrives from North Queensland while Maitua, 28, will return to the NRL from a two-year suspension imposed after he failed a drug test while playing for Canterbury.

The Eels should boast a formidable forward pack next year with the additions of Webb and Maitua to a squad already containing Fuifui Moimoi, Tim Mannah, Nathan Hindmarsh, Justin Poore, and Shane Shackleton.

Webb is likely to the the long term replacement for current skipper Nathan Cayless, who will sign off his 13-year career with the club against the Warriors on Saturday.

The news will be positive for Eels fans who have watched their side fail to live up to their expections by missing out on the finals of this year’s competion after making it to the grand final in 2009.
