Leigh coach John Duffy says the club are “always looking” for new signings as he provides a recruitment update.

The Centurions are doing it tough with injuries at the moment, with six first team regulars (Blake Wallace, Joe Mellor, Adam Sidlow, Jamie Ellis, Keanan Brand & Brendan Elliot) ruled out for Friday’s game against reigning champions St Helens.

Duffy says the club are on the lookout for new recruits, whether that is a permanent or loan signing.

He said: “We are always looking but everyone wants to keep their players at the minute because everyone is getting injuries so it is tough going trying to get players in at the moment.

“We are always onto everyone if they want to loan players out or who is available but it is just tough at the minute because all the clubs want to keep hold of their players, the squad players as well.

“We’ve just got to battle on and control the controllables which is the players that we’ve got at the minute. Keep them positive and try and get a performance out of them.”
