Watson’s Devils wound up for Wire

Salford coach Ian Watson believes that his team can take the positive spirit from their win over Castleford into this week’s clash with Warrington.

Wire triumphed at Salford earlier in the season thanks to a last-minute Chris Sandow drop goal, and Watson’s team still feel the hurt of that defeat.

“We’ve been saying to the boys that we need to learn from the games we’ve lost and take it forward,” Watson told Red Devils TV.

“We lost closely against Warrington last time. We feel we owe them one for that becuae they kind of pinched it in the last second with a drop goal.

“We’re going there pretty confident in our ability that we’ll go there and get two points.

“We had a big week the week before, and they put a lot of effort into the game on Friday.

“But they’re talking about taking the confidence from that game forward, seeing what we did  well and taking that into the Warrington game.

“That’ll hopefully get us the victory on Thursday night.”
