Regarding the dual registration agreement between Toronto and Bradford, and the comments in the video, it seems that the idea of players travelling a great distance to be ‘called up’ to play for the other team is not so familiar in the UK. In North American sports, it’s ridiculously common. Big league teams have ‘farm clubs’ where their players are developing, and these are often a long flight and several time zones away. Players will get a call a day or two before a match, and be on a plane immediately, and ready to go at game time. The Calgary Flames have an affiliate in California, and the New York Mets send/get players from Las Vegas. The distance isn’t that big of a deal for us.
