Love Rugby League deputy editor Drew Darbyshire has given his predictions for this weekend’s sixth round Challenge Cup ties.

Wigan Warriors v Salford Red Devils – Wigan by 10

One of the three all-Super League ties in the sixth round. I like the look of Wigan under new coach Matt Peet and I just think they’ll be too strong at home to Salford.

Sheffield Eagles v Hull FC – Hull by 22

Part-time club Sheffield have started the Championship season in good form, winning three from their first five games. However, I just think Hull will be too physical and too fit for them. Hull by 22.

Whitehaven v St Helens – St Helens by 42

This is a real David versus Goliath test. I don’t think there’ll be many tipping Whitehaven in this one. There’s a reason why Saints have won the Super League Grand Final for the last three years. They are the benchmark club in British rugby league.

Catalans Dragons v Featherstone Rovers – Catalans by 22

The Dragons are renowned for making the Stade Gilbert Brutus a fortress, and I think they’ll march on into the quarter-finals. I think Featherstone will make a good account of themselves but, ultimately, Catalans will be too strong.

Hull Kingston Rovers v Leigh Centurions – Hull KR by 10

This game should be on television in my opinion. This is the game where there could possibly be an upset. Leigh are flying high in the Championship right now but I’ve gone with Super League’s Hull KR. I think they will just edge past the Centurions at Craven Park.

Leeds Rhinos v Castleford Tigers – Leeds by 8

With Richard Agar having left the club earlier this week, I think there will be a big reaction at the Rhinos. I think they’ll bounce back from their poor form with a win over local rivals Castleford in the Cup.

Warrington Wolves v Wakefield Trinity – Warrington by 14

We saw this game played in Super League last week, with Wakefield running out surprising 38-22 winners at the Halliwell Jones Stadium. I expect there to be a big reaction from Daryl Powell’s side this week.

Barrow Raiders v Huddersfield Giants – Huddersfield by 14

Could there be an upset in Cumbria? Well, possibly. But unfortunately I don’t think the underdogs will come out on top in this one. I just think Huddersfield will have too much quality for Barrow.
